I guess I’m finding something
Hurt me and take precautions
All the time I try to fake it
Cause I don’t want to be hated
I’m afraid to come under fire
Or to be acclaimed
Equate what I am
With what I made
Unconsciously
I don’t know how to be alright
Can’t help clutching some
Inferiority
I wake up with what chokes on me
Always it stands up
In Front of me
Only In my head I make fun of me
I know that’s
My own worst enemy
From Inside I realize
Somehow I maintain Proximity
I’ve always caught uneasiness
I have to live up
To expectations
And It’s In my face
Too close to see
I need a little bit of Gravity
That bring me down to the ground
Cause It could hurt me
And It could give me some
Security as well
I don’t know how to be alright
Can’t help clutching some
Inferiority
I wake up with what chokes on me
Always it stands up
In Front of me
Only In my head I make fun of me
I know that’s
My own worst enemy
From Inside I realize
Somehow I maintain Proximity
Proximity
Inside I realize
Somehow I maintain Proximity
From Inside I realize
Somehow I maintain Proximity

amou is a solo project by singer-songwriter Satoru Kitajima. Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1991, he started playing guitar at the age of 14 and moved to the U.S. by himself at the age of 20. He studied recording, creativity, and marketing systematically in Hollywood with the concept of self-produced activities as an independent artist. After returning to Japan, while working for an IT venture company, he has been active in music as a guitarist and vocalist in "falleaves" and as a label director in "divergent record". In 2023, he started his solo career as "amou" and released his first ep "Slowdonw". He is influenced by emo and post-rock, and his sound is characterized by a wide range of sounds such as indie-folk, chill-out, tropical house, and so on. His lyrics are philosophical and reflective, as if he is confronting the difficulty of living within himself, while looking at the suffocation he feels in society.
