Paddy Isle will release their new digital single "Staring At The Ceiling" on the 27th of August!
Blending the classic sensibilities of bands like The Beatles and T. Rex with a free-spirited energy and pop appeal that transcends both generation and genre, Paddy Isle continue to captivate with their unique sound.
Their first release in about a year and a half since the 2023 EP In Between, this track serves as a single from their upcoming second album. It features a driving 8-beat rhythm that bursts forward with a sense of release and momentum.
Born from a spontaneous jam session in the studio, the song has quickly become a live favorite.
The band recorded it between their home setups and a private studio in Niigata, taking their time to carefully shape the sound they had in mind.
Mixing and mastering were led by guitarist/vocalist Tatsuya 'Andre' Miura.
The lyrics, written by Ryo Maruyama and inspired by a photo he found at a friends house, are paired with crisp guitars and airy vocal harmonies to create a track filled with brightness, one that brings to mind the kind of vivid emotions we all carry somewhere within us.
Paddy Isle are currently in the midst of producing their second album.
This single offers a glimpse into their lighter, more radiant side, leaving listeners curious to hear how the full work will unfold.

Paddy Isle is a four-piece psychedelic pop band based in Tokyo, consisting of Ryo Maruyama (Gt & Vo), Tatsuya 'Andre' Miura (Gt & Vo), Ayumu Aragaki (Ba & Vo), and Yuhi Shiraishi (Dr). Formed in 2019, the band features three songwriters and draws on the spirit of 60s-70s rock while freely blending styles-from delicate acoustic arrangements to shoegaze and electronic textures. Their genre-crossing, era-defying sound carries a sense of creative freedom. They have been actively performing in the Tokyo live scene, especially in Shibuya and Shimokitazawa. Since 2021, they have co-hosted the bi-monthly rock party MOONSHINE with DJ Nehan at Shibuya Ruby Room steadily building their presence in the local scene. In 2022, they released their debut album "Cavemen's Law", followed by the digital-only EP "In Between" in 2023. Their upcoming single "Staring At The Ceiling", taken from their currently in-progress second album, is set to be released in September 2025.
