Indulás

Indulás - the Hungarian word for "departure" - reflects both the album's theme and the journey of its performer. Flutist Chikara Kanno built a distinguished career as Principal Flute of the Filharmónia Fehérvár in Hungary before returning to Japan in 2024 to mark his 10th anniversary as a professional musician. For his anniversary recital, Kanno invited both commissioned works and open-call submissions under the theme of departure, journey, and hope - and the exceptional pieces that gathered inspired the creation of this album. Reuniting with pianist Kako Iwamoto, whose performance alongside Kanno at the 2024 Toyosu recital drew wide acclaim, all eight tracks were recorded as a flute and piano duo. Featuring seven works by six composers - Kazuki Shimoda, Naoya Wada, Akihiro Nakajima, Ryosuke Arai, Kazuki Tomita, and Takehiro Fukawatase - plus a bonus track by Moe Ito. 8 tracks in total.
