~So Hyang-sook, an ocarina player and composer who sings with nature and plays in harmony with the scenery~ A third-generation Korean resident in Japan, born and raised in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from the music department of Korea University, he taught music at Jocho Korean Elementary School in Osaka for eight years and taught folk percussion for ten years. He came across the ocarina by chance in a music store in 2007, and meeting his teacher, Satoshi Osawa, set him on a path to becoming a player. In 2018, he performed as a guest at the China International Ocarina Festival, and in 2019, he embarked on a performance tour in Korea. He has released three CD albums: "Encounter," "Nijiiro," and "Arigato." For 10 years, they have been working towards realizing a 1,000-person ocarina ensemble with the dream of popularizing the ocarina by 2021. From 2022, they have the opportunity to perform at shrines and temples, including Izanagi Shrine and Shizuki Shrine. They have also performed at peace-themed events, such as a charity concert at the Hokkaido Clock Tower, a peace prayer event hosted by Takarazuka City, and a charity concert for the Noto Peninsula earthquake. In 2024, the heartwarming song "Thank You," which was sent to Shizuki Shrine on Awaji Island from the sacred Shizuno-Okusu camphor tree, was performed 100 times beneath the tree. The 100th performance was held at the Shizuki Shrine Yoimiya Festival, with 100 ocarina players performing, creating a concert in which heaven and earth seemed to resonate as one. May 16, 2025: Appearance on NHK's "Nagasaki Special," broadcast nationwide in August. On the 8th and 9th, we will record a concert with 80 friends titled "The Brilliance of Life Living in the Present" - a prayer for peace 80 years after the end of the war - and stream it on YouTube, connecting the sounds of the ocarina through the camphor tree that transcends generations. September 2025: Streaming the purifying sounds of nature! "Ototohime x Kenshiro" A sound-creation project in which Ototohime and Kenshiro collaborate with nature has begun! Stay tuned for the release. Since 2025, she has been active under the name "Ototohime."
