TRUE GRIT

TRUE GRIT is a song born from the feelings I carry for a senior who passed away.
The word GRIT signifies inner strength and an unbreakable heart. I completed this piece by layering a poem I wrote ten years ago with a message for people who are struggling to live through the present.

During my student days, he was both a mentor and someone like an older brother to me.
His way of continuing to work hard without relying on talent left a strong and lasting impression on me.
This song was created based on the poem I wrote after he passed away.

The lines,
If not fighting is what it truly means to lose,
then you ve already chosen your future again,
are words I directed toward my younger self at the time.
They reflect the person I am now someone who keeps choosing to face challenges without running away, as if answering the lessons he taught me.
