I want to go home

The protagonist is an alien tasked with monitoring Earth. For the past 2,000 years, he has been observing Earth's environment and the behavior of its inhabitants, reporting back to the Space God, and somehow managing to maintain the planet. However, Since the 1800s, however, pollution on Earth has become severe. Humans have been polluting the oceans and the air while making all sorts of excuses about "development" and the like. On top of that, conflicts have continued unabated for over 2,000 years, and the alien monitor is struggling with humans who show no intention of stopping. He has finally given up on them and is pleading with the Space God to let him return to his home planet... That is the story.
