Artist Profile
niilu
niilu is a music duo consisting of vocalist eda and guitarist yume. The name niilu comes from the Japanese phrase koko ni iru, meaning I am here. It carries the message: You are not alone. I am right here by your side. The duo began their musical journey in December 2021 by releasing their self-produced vertical music video Strelitzia on YouTube. Since then, they have continued to expand their creative expression, producing not only music but also their own sound, visual, and design works. In 2023, niilu created see stars, the opening song for Rak Raku Rai Rai, the first solo live performance by the Yoshimoto Kogyo comedy duo Sister. They subsequently created the opening songs for their second and third solo performances: Driver for Saikikkū in 2024 and slow turn for MUSE in 2025. Since July 2025, Driver has been featured as pre-show music for Happy Dream Circus, one of the three major circuses in Japan, which has attracted approximately 500,000 visitors annually. Since September 2026, Dreamin has been featured as the official theme song of Dream Circus. On the release date, niilu held a special mini live performance at the opening program of the Miracle Dream Circus Seibuen Amusement Park performance to celebrate the release. EDA eda first discovered internet music around the fourth grade of elementary school and began pursuing music. After taking part in cover song projects and band activities, she attended a high school with a specialized music program to further develop her musical abilities and studied music professionally. After moving to Tokyo, she has worked as a guest vocalist and also performs as an MC at Happy Dream Circus. Within niilu, eda also serves as the Art Director, creating music and visual works that reflect her unique creativity. YUME yume works across a wide range of fields as a Vocalist, Producer, Sound Engineer, Composer, Voice Trainer, and Guitarist. Drawing on his diverse career and experience in music, he serves as the Total Producer of niilu, overseeing the duos overall musical production and creative direction.
