Gion Mirage (2025 Remaster)

TAREMITSU-DO

I was a stranger, studying in “Kyoto” then

Lost in the rhythm of summer rain

Under the “Rousoku” lights, I saw her face —

Soft smile, “Yukata” sway, gentle grace

The “Otera” bells echoed through the air

And I felt something sacred there

“Gion no matsuri,” the night was alive

Drums of the summer made my heart revive

Laughter, lanterns — maybe “Koi mitai,”

A fleeting dream beneath “Kyoto” skies

Paper fans and whispering streets

Perfume of rain where old meets new

She looked back once beneath the light —

Her eyes said, “Mata aou ne,” that night

Time was brief, but eternity near

The sound of “Taiko” still rings clear

“Gion no matsuri,” my soul was free

Dancing shadows on the “Kamogawa” breeze

The crowd dissolved, but her voice remained —

“Kyoto,” she said, then called my name

Years have passed, I walk alone

Far from the streets I once called home

“Yoru no kaze ga utau” —

The echo of “Kyoto” still calls my name

“Gion no matsuri,” the memory stays

Fire and moonlight, endless maze

One “Rousoku” still burns in me —

A light from “Kyoto,” my sweet memory

A fleeting memory of a girl beneath the lantern lights of Kyoto's Gion Festival.
The wind still sings through time -- carrying echoes of that summer night.
Baroque-no captures this mirage of memory and sound in "Gion Mirage."
