I gained a madness, touched by grace
A stubborn rhythm on a handwritten page
Aphrodite smiled with wordless pride
While foolish nose hairs danced in stride
Rain wore stone with gentle might
Each drop a mark, a sacred rite
From fallen gods to fish that fry
Each word learned how to sing—not cry
I may be strange, a twisted shape
But in this book, I find escape
With trembling hands, I make my stand
Wading through life’s shifting sand
The goddess gleams, the fool replies
Even jokes can cleanse the skies
Each word I write—a flame, a prayer—
From Abu to Ise, I journey there
“Come inside,” she said with grace
“You’re soaked, you’ve lost your pace.”
“I can’t go on,” I softly pled
But Atai laughed and lit her cig instead
“From arinko to Izanami’s shrine
Barroom slurs to sea-born signs—
The sacred and obscene collide
Where myth and truth refuse to hide.”
I may be broken, just a name
But every page refines the flame
From “sweetest lies” to “Amaterasu,”
This crooked path still guides me through
The fool, the priest, the sage, the freak—
All find a role, all dare to speak
Each word I write—a breath, a scar—
From Abu to Ise, that’s who we are
In ink, I hear my voice arise
In silence, joy begins to rise
Even nose hairs, foolish and bare
Can shine a truth too bold to spare
I write in shadow, I write in light
Ten years of pages through the night
Not to impress, or to be wise—
But just to speak. Just to testify
From Abu to Ise—my truth, my shrine

Abu Ise - The Dictionary Pilgrimage
kneeking Records
A new sonic pilgrimage from Yoshihiro Sato, the man who continues his lifelong journey through dictionaries.
From "Abnormal" to "Ise," this philosophical poetry is inspired by pages 77-161 of Kojien Vol.7.
Where mythology meets the mundane, and characters like Atai and Kawachi the Pervert collide-
A track both humorous and sacred, born from the act of reading as ritual.
