Artist Profile

  • TAMEYO DUB DESIGN WORKS

    This is a solo unit by trombonist and track maker Satowo. Based on dub, he explores a unique sound that defies genre and trends. Influenced by trip-hop, dub, techno, and funk, including Massive Attack, Alpha, Adrian Sherwood, Aphex Twin, and P-Funk. He also enjoys jazz and classical music. The "Tameyo" in the unit's name is his grandmother's name. Born in 1978, currently living in Kobe, originally from Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture. He began producing tracks in a band around 1998, but the band disbanded around 2000. Since then, he has intermittently played trombone and guitar in reggae bands. In 2021, he reunited with LA composer Wataru Hokoyama, a high school senior, and was so inspired that he resumed producing tracks after 20 years.
