This song is a tribute to the challenges faced by athletes.
The lyrics were inspired by watching Sara Takanashi complete her final jump at the Beijing Olympics, even after being disqualified.
I eventually completed the song after being further inspired by the figure skating pair "RikuRyu" (Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara) and their journey toward the Milano-Cortina Olympics; the writing process spanned more than five years.
The message behind the song is that when you find yourself in a desperate, make-or-break situation, the only thing that enables you to act is the accumulation of small steps taken daily toward hope.
It would bring me great joy if athletes listened to this during practice or before a competition to boost their spirits.
Even if you aren't an athlete, I hope you will listen to it when facing a crucial challenge of your own.
