The final chapter of the "Space Debris" series, released over three consecutive months, is now available for streaming.
The title track, "1G," was crafted by OMKT, who sampled and processed noise generators and NASA sound effects. Described by the artist as "the most challenging track to make," almost the entire track-making process was completed using only a sampler.
The poetry-style vocals by Yokyo are also a must-hear.
The coupling track features "The Other Side," a cinematic piece by OMKT.
It delivers a grand soundtrack that perfectly showcases OMKT's "Other Side," fitting for the final chapter of the series.
OMKT discovered the world of electronic sound through Yellow Magic Orchestra and Kraftwerk. In 1998, a trip to Ibiza introduced him to house music, an experience that deeply shaped his musical direction. His DJ style combines selections rooted in new wave and rock with self-edited tracks created using his skills as a track maker. One of his best-known productions is a house cover of Viva la Vida by Coldplay, which became a smash hit in clubs across Japan. In June 2011, his track "REZ (Pray For JAPAN Mix)" reached No.1 on the club music download platform Wasabeat, where it remained at the top for an extended period. OMKT has also contributed music to compilation CDs such as House Nation, as well as projects for the Tokyo Girls Collection and television commercials. In addition to his work as a DJ and producer, he is active as a programmer, arranger and engineer. He also operates the music production studio STUDIO ATARI, where he hosts track production workshops using Ableton Live developed by Ableton.
