Suzuma Nomura (born May 7, 2002) is a Japanese violinist, pianist, composer, and folkloric musician. He was born in Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Suzuma made his first stage appearance at the age of three, playing the bombo, a traditional Argentine folk drum. At the age of four, he encountered the Ecuadorian music group SISAY, an experience that deeply influenced him and led him to begin performing Ecuadorian and Andean music. While pursuing his solo career in Japan, Suzuma relocated to New York City in 2021, where he spent two years actively performing music. During this period, he regularly played live music on the streets and collaborated with numerous local musicians, further expanding his musical range and expression. He has appeared at international cultural festivals such as Inti Raymi in Chicago and Pawkar Raymi (the Festival of Blossoming) in Ecuador, among others. Suzuma Nomura is currently releasing his new album cotopaxi, now available on streaming platforms.
