CATCH UP/Space Swing (1998)
Featuring Marimo on vocals and guitar, Minako (Minakumari) on guitar, Yoshiko on bass, and Mariko on drums, CATCH UP is a Japanese female alternative rock band known for their sharp, expressive sound.
Released in 1998, their first album Space Swing showcases the band's signature blend of distorted guitars and sugar-sweet pop-infused vocals. Their simple yet edgy alternative rock style draws listeners into an unfamiliar sonic universe. Each track unfolds a story shaped by the band's unique perspective, evoking a wide range of emotions.

Artist Profile
CATCH UP
CATCH UP is a Japanese female alternative rock band that was active from 1996 to 2001. Known genre-blending sound, the band quickly established a distinctive presence in Tokyo's independent music scene. Formed in 1996, CATCH UP features Marimo on vocals, Minako (Minakumari) on guitar, Yoshiko on bass, and Mariko on drums. That same year, they launched their first self-produced event, CATCH UP Bazaar Vol. 1, held in Tokyo. In 1997, the band released their three-track cassette Sun Swing, which included the songs Sun Swing, Yeah, Brahman, and Hot Days, Take a Break. CATCH UP released their first full-length album, Space Swing, in February 1998. Later that year, they issued a collaborative split album with Space Kung Fu Man, featuring each band covering the other's songs. The release also included a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl version pressed in red and blue. The band continued to expand their musical range with the self-released Cold Green Soup in September 1999, followed by their second album Aaji in March 2000. In April 2001, CATCH UP released their third studio album, Sanso, a work that reflects the band's continued exploration of new musical possibilities.
