Saya Asakura is born on June 29th 1992. She is a singer from Yamgata prefecture, who started learning Japanese "minyo" folk singing, and playing shamisen at the of 10. She started writing original songs and posted shamisen covers or Yamagata dialect covers of "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" and "Genesis of Aquarion", creating a big internet buzz.
