Self-proclaimed "Lofi web3 artist" omgkirby has teamed up with Channel Tres, the standard-bearer for sophisticated contemporary hip house, to present 5500 generative music NFT project "omgkirby x CT", a futuristic workflow using licensed sound sources provided by the project. This is a non-fungible work that combines lo-fi hip-hop, hip-house, and Japanese dancehall reggae for the first time in history.

Artist Profile

  • Hibikilla

Hibikilla is a Japanese reggae/dancehall artist from Hokkaido, Japan. Influenced by Japanese DeeJay styles like Papa-B and Miki-Dozan, as well as the formidable performance of Bounty Killer and Capleton, he embarked on his music career. In 2004, he dropped "Hyaku-Retsu-Ken," (Fist of North Star) which quickly became a sound clash scene anthem and soared to the top spot on the 7-inch single charts. From 2006 to 2009, he consistently released four albums: "No Problem," "Noukou-Minzoku" (Intense Ethnicity), "LIFE," and "BE FREE." In 2011, his fourth album, "FREEDOM_BLUES," featuring the track "Saiaku-No-Jitai" (The Worst Situation) which was praised as a new masterpiece of Japanese rebel music, earned him the Best Album Award from Music Magazine, establishing his influence in the Y2K scene. Despite a hiatus from his career due to children-care responsibilities, he made a remarkable return to the scene. In 2020, he reached the top spot on the iTunes Store reggae charts with "Kono-Sekai feat. Dabo"(In this world) and further claimed the title of the most-streamed track in the world in the reggae category on the web3 music platform Audius with "Wha Gwaan Midnight feat. Tach-B" Now, in November 2023, He has released his new full album, "KillerTune." It's clear that Hibikilla has achieved a complete comeback, and his future endeavors are something to keep a close eye on.
