The whole town is painted in the colors of the dawn

On the path where I stumbled, as I wandered on

I picked up a tiny hourglass, lying in the street

And inside the glass, a memory felt so bittersweet

Sparkling light, making the vision complete

The fallen grains of sand began to glow

Just one single bead started to show

"It’s this way," it whispered, soft and low

A guiding light, for the seeds I need to sow

When I open up the door to the mystery

A world where dreams and memories flow into me

Every single tear and every smile from every day

They were all connected to the "Now," in their own way

The "Little Me" is singing a song so clear:

"Don't you forget the things you hold so dear"

This journey through the hourglass, the grains of gold

Is a search for the feelings I’ve been trying to hold

A notebook soaked in rain, a pencil on the floor

Even the "I'm sorry" from the days of yore

So many words I tucked away, deep inside a chest

They’re coming back to life now, rising from their rest

Waking up within the sand, put to the test

The time that stayed frozen, cold and still

Begins to move again, with a sudden thrill

The music box inside my heart starts to play

A gentle melody, to brighten up the day

If I flip the hourglass, turn it upside down

I could go back once more, leave this town

But "The choice that the 'Me' of today will make"

Is a secret in my chest, for my own sake

The answer is here, in every breath I take

The days when I couldn't be honest and true

The mornings I couldn't smile back at you

I’ll embrace them all, the old and the new

And keep on walking, through the morning dew

Even if the sands of time should spill and fade

The precious things will stay, in the light and shade

Even the time I tried to be somebody else

Was just another part of the story of myself!

Reflecting the seasons as they drift and go

The hourglass is leading me, through the high and low

With a sparkling tear and a heart that is free
