2019年3月14日にMotion Blue YOKOHAMAにて開催された、NEWTIDE JAZZ ORCHESTRA ライブツアー・ファイナル 横浜公演を収録したアルバム。Count BasieやDuke Ellington、Thad Jonesから近年のコンポーザーの楽曲まで、”Jazz”を基とした幅広いラインナップとなっている。”Dear Pop Jay” “Isfahan” “Cherry Juice”の3曲にはゲストとして池田篤(A.sax)が参加。LiveならではのBig Bandサウンドに仕上がっている。

  • NEWTIDE JAZZ ORCHESTRA

    The multi-winning Newtide Jazz Orchestra has won six years in the row in the the Yamano Big Band Jazz Contest, which is often referred to as the "national championship for student big bands" In 2010, the band performed with Makoto Ozone at Blue Note Tokyo, with Sadao Watanabe and the Yellow Jackets at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall. The Newtide Jazz Orchesta was joined by the alumnus of the band, Masato Honda in 2011 and 2012. In the following year, the original members performed at the Tokyo JAZZ the PLAZA. Between 2015 and 2018, the Newtide Jazz Orchestra performed at the event, Jazz Festival at Conservatory, which was held by the four music schools in Tokyo. Also in 2016, the band was joined by Akira Jimbo in the performance of "NEWTIDE JAZZ ORCHESTRA meets Akira Jimbo" at Motion Blue YOKOHAMA. The Newtide Jazz Orchestra released its first album"Start in life" in 2013, and the second album "Live!!!" followed in 2017. The Newtide Jazz Orchestra is actively performing including jazz festivals in various places, performances at parties, school festivals, and so on, both in and outside the university.
