Radical Duality is a collection of electroacoustic works by Masafumi Oda exploring the tension between structure and unpredictability in digital sound.

The pieces in this album were originally created for international festivals, competitions, and performance contexts, reflecting an ongoing investigation into algorithmic processes, sonic transformation, and spatial listening.

Through contrasting sonic materials and evolving textures, the Radical Duality series examines the coexistence of opposing forces within contemporary electronic music, where computational logic and organic sonic emergence intersect.

The track Anti-Automationism was selected for the centennial edition of the World (New) Music Days in South Africa, organized by the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM). Radical Duality IV won first prize at Penn State Living Music 2022, hosted by Pennsylvania State University. All other tracks on the album have also been selected or awarded at various competitions and festivals in the United States, Austria, Brazil, China, and Japan.

Together these works present a portrait of Oda's recent electroacoustic practice developed through international performance and festival contexts.
