COZYKING

Cold wind blowing through the canyon line

Dust on our boots and a heart full of fire

Outlaws came riding in the dead of night

But we held our ground till the morning light

Broken wheels scattered by the old saloon

Mama kept praying beneath the silver moon

We lost some friends on that endless trail

Still we kept driving through the desert gale

Stone after stone

Side by side

We built these roads with pride

We ride on

Through the desert twang drift

Under burning stars

Where the lost souls live

We ride on

Though the nights were long

Now this dusty town

Feels like home

We didn't have riches

We didn't have gold

Only faith in each other

When the nights turned cold

Now the neon shines by the highway bend

Children laughing where the darkness lived

From the smoke and rust we raised these walls

And the church bell echoes through it all

We ride on

Through the desert twang drift

Past the fading years

And the scars we hid

We ride on

Like the rivers flow

And this little town

Still grows

Inspired by country and blues music, I created this song through trial and error. It doesn't quite measure up to genuine country music, but I hope you'll enjoy listening to it.
