I began writing lyrics and music in the latter half of junior high school. I started by having my music teacher correct me and writing songs to lyrics spelled out by a girl in my class.
Her name was Ms. Nancy.
From that time on, I wrote the lyrics first and then spun the melody. We went to separate high schools, but we exchanged lyrics like a correspondence. We wrote more than 30 songs together in that way.
When I put music to the lyrics that someone else had written, I would encounter word choices and word arrangements that I had not envisioned, and the melodies inspired by them would become gems of music that would not have come from my own lyrics.
For this album, I decided to bring back the nostalgic memories of those days and to convey new life to those songs, so I newly arranged, performed, and sang almost all the songs with supplementary lyrics, while using DTM, an electronic piano-based system.
And in her honor, we decided to call it "Dear Nancy".
And for the lyric card, we asked pupapo design to illustrate and draw the lovely scenes attracted by each song with a touch of watercolor painting. I would like to express our deepest gratitude to them.

Takemi Otsuki
Takemi Otsuki is a Japanese doctor, lyricist, composer, arranger, keyboardist, and actor. He is from Kyoto Prefecture. He is the director of the Shinjo Village National Health Insurance Clinic. He is Professor Emeritus of Kawasaki Medical School. He is a director of the NPO Filmmaker Support Organization. Born in Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture. He has been living in Kurashiki City since the spring of 15 years old. 1972/1975 Appeared on NHK "Anata no Melody". Participated in the Yamaha Popular Song Contest National Convention in 1974. Mayo Shono, vocalist. After returning to Japan from studying abroad, he embarked on an experimental approach to environmental health and preventive medicine in the field of hygiene while practicing medicine as a general physician. His songs have been released through various subscription services."Mitsumereba Ai" was the sub-theme of the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Hygiene, where he served as chairman.
