The Tree Fairy e.p.

Lily Shrimp, the guitar-vocal duo comprising Risa and Ayuna, released their debut work "The Tree Fairy e.p." on 16th April via Miobell Records in Japan.

Lily Shrimp is a newly formed unit established just last year. Their defining feature is the twin vocals of a double frontman setup, with Risa and Ayuna each serving as guitar-vocalist. Risa previously released works digitally under the name SUGARCLIP via Universal Music, but had stepped away from musical activities in 2020.

Their debut track, "The Tree Fairy", is a song Risa wrote during her high school years. Though performed several times at event live shows, it remained a treasured, unreleased work, never having been recorded, even during her past band days. The recording featured numerous accomplished musicians, including support musicians: drummer Shin Akama, bassist Koichi Koyama (OYAMANGA, ex. NONA REEVES), pianist Hirofumi Nishimura, and a specially assembled string quartet comprising violinists Mai Tanizaki and Reina Nanbu, violist Keiko Tanaka, and cellist Ayumi Hashimoto.

The artwork features a specially commissioned paper cut-out by KEN, a popular elementary school paper cut-out artist whose merchandise has recently gained attention at pop-up shops nationwide. KEN has held a solo exhibition of original artwork at Ginza Mitsukoshi and was recently appointed as an Ambassador for the Support of his hometown, Nogata. The piece, created specifically for this album, depicts the artist's theme of "The Tree Fairy" through an anthropomorphised version of Risa and Ayuna holding a guitar and performing.
