恋愛の“綺麗な部分”だけではなく、誰もが心の奥に隠している危うさまで描き切ったアルバムである。
オープニングを飾る「群青の呼吸」は都会の孤独と恋の始まりを静かに描写。
「知らないふりの名前」では主従関係という、近いのに遠い関係性の痛みを繊細に映し出す。
「春恋スイング」は初恋にも似た軽快でポップな恋心。
さらに
「ポケットのビー玉」では青春の記憶と未完成な想いを、
「君を忘れるための夏」では、何気ない時間の温度感を乗せて描写。
「恋。はじまる秋。」では、季節とともに始まる柔らかな感情を温かく包み込む。
そして「生まれ変わっても」で“永遠に続く愛”を歌ったあとアルバムは核心へ向かう。
「この手にプラスチック…」では、現代的で壊れやすい愛を象徴的に表現し、
タイトル曲「中毒」では、危険な恋に溺れていく依存関係をダークでセクシーなR&Bとして完成させた。

「5時46分」では、誰にも言えない切なさと静寂を表現。
本作『中毒』は“恋愛”という感情を、甘さだけで終わらせない。
