Midnight Livestream

A cheap guitar.
A small room.
And another midnight livestream.

I smile and say, "Good evening,"
while watching the numbers that never seem to rise
and waiting for comments that never come.

There is no applause.
No cheering.
Only silence on the other side of the screen.

Some nights,
I end the stream, turn off the light,
and cry alone.

People laugh when I talk about my dreams.
I've thought about giving up more times than I can count.

But when another night comes,
I pick up my guitar again.

Even if no one hears me, I'll sing.
Even if my voice breaks,
I'll keep singing until this song reaches one person.

A song whose title nobody knows today
might someday become a song
someone never forgets.

For every unknown singer
who still refuses to give up on a dream.
