Koutaro Egami
Kotaro Egami He primarily plays acoustic and electric guitar. He picked up a guitar at the age of 13 and grew up immersed in various kinds of music. Strongly influenced by rock bands and singer-songwriters from the 1980s onward, he immersed himself in music from various angles, including covering songs, singing and playing, and uploading cover videos to YouTube. For many years, he longed to be in a band but couldn't make the progress he wanted, so he chose to create music alone. He tried composing with his first MTR (multi-track recorder), but gave up for the common reason that he couldn't come up with lyrics or melodies, and gradually drifted away from the guitar. However, even after becoming a working adult, he couldn't shake his longing for music and picked up the guitar again. He reconstructed the songs he couldn't complete in his teens using DTM (Desktop Music), and his memorable first song, "Before the Dawn," was completed. It was released digitally in June 2026. His songs reflect the struggles he faced in his teens with interpersonal relationships, and the changing worries and experiences he has as he has grown into adulthood. They continue to create songs that resonate with teenagers and their peers who share similar feelings.
