• Lil May

  Lil May, a producer and engineer born in Osaka in 1990, made her way to the United States at the age of 18. Working primarily in LA and NY, she collaborated with notable producers,engineers and labels such as John Feldmann and Death Row Records. While working with various renowned labels, she eventually moved her base to Tokyo and continued her activities there vigorously. Since 2021, She began her own releases with the EP, Throwback Future, a collaborative work with Koh from Tha Jointz, which EP includes the up and coming hiphop artists such as MFS.In Toward the end of 2022, she worked as a remixer on Solmana's track, AWA (feat. AAAMYY, Ermohoi, Nao Kawamura & Yoshida Sara(MONONKVL)), which was selected for Spotify's Best of Soul Music Japan playlist. Her influence expanded not only in the hip-hop scene but also in the R&B scene, showcasing her versatility as a genre-defying producer. This year, she released a collaborative album titled, 20 with the rapper Emma, featuring guest appearances from distinguished artists such as MUKADE, Inman, and Domura Rich. And also, Lil May has taken on DJ activities and started energetically producing house remixes and original tracks, aiming to spread the house music scene she discovered during her time in NY to Japan. In May, she even performed as a DJ at the event, Peace Tree Night, hosted by the active DJ/singer YonYon, demonstrating her broadening scope of activities beyond just being a producer.
