He used to know how it felt
To be a complete unknown
Like all those worn-out wheels
He just kept rolling down
She used to know how it felt
To be the fool on the hill
When all the flowers bloomed
She just kept dreaming through the night
Let me drive my car
Just print that plastic card
Trust me, I'll be OK
The streets will stay the same
They used to know how it felt
To take a walk on the wild side
Let all those slappers prove
That they're going to rule the world
Let me drive my car
Just print that plastic card
Trust me, I'll be OK
The streets will stay the same

Kohei Kamoto
Kohei Kamoto, a member of DYGL and a bandmate of Yuma Abe, who has honed his craft through tours and recordings both in Japan and abroad, will release his debut solo album Dangle Candle on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Leading the way, his first single "Car" will be available for streaming on Wednesday, October 15.
"Car" features a nostalgic lo-fi texture paired with rhythmic guitar cuts that leave a lasting impression. Kohei performs all instruments himself, while also handling the mix and the artwork, showcasing the strong personal touch of his self-produced approach. Additionally, Yuma Abe's Kohta Yuma joins as arranger and co-producer, contributing keyboards and synthesizers to create depth and organic expansiveness in the sound. The mastering is handled by Hiroshi Ikeda from hmc.
For the first time outside of his work with DYGL, Kohei Kamoto delivers his own vocals on this track, a highlight of the release. The music, imbued with both warmth and a subtle sense of melancholy, evokes the feeling of light spilling across a coastal road at sunset or the gentle shadows of a winding mountain path, blending scenery and time within the listener's mind as if riding in a car through these fleeting moments.
The single is released via Thaian Records, led by Yuma Abe, and draws attention to the new sonic landscapes Kohei Kamoto continues to explore.
