"Lauslåtten hass Eirik Toresgard, halling," originally featured on the solo album "Einpikkar'n" (2014) by renowned Norwegian button accordionist Ulf-Arne Johannessen, has been re-produced by Norkul TOKYO. Japanese musicians Shoko Takanashi (whistle) and Daisuke Kumagai (drums), who have performed together with him in Japan, also took part in the project. Audun Strype did mastering.

  • Norkul Tokyo

    A duo, consisting of Morten J. Vatn and Emy Sakai, that plays Norwegian folk music. The duo was formed in 2015 when both of them met at the Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2016, they released their first album "Heiðrún," providing a modern interpretation of folk music, which garnered praise in the country of origin of the music, i.e., Norway. After appearing at La Folle Journée au Japon (2017), Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments (2018), etc., they suspended their activities to look after their respective children. Recommended activities 2023 and has appeared on NHK Radio 1 / NHK World Radio Japan's "Chikyu Radio", "Juhla Festival 2023", "Tokyo Geidai Art Fes 2023", "La Folle Journée TOKYO 2024" etc.
