August 32nd

I was about to say, 'Hope you're enjoying the last days of summer,but
the weather has suddenly turned rainy again-almost like Japan's rainy season has returned-so it feels as if summer might be starting all over again.

These are the songs that came out of putting this summer through my own filter.

The lead track is 'August 32nd.'

I didn't want summer to end, so I decided to extend summer vacation
on my own.

If we could somehow step outside the boundaries of reason, could we
hang out again with the people who are no longer here?

I don't know.

But during Obon, Japan's summer tradition of welcoming the spirits of ancestors back home, I feel like I got to see my grandpa and grandma
again-riding the traditional cucumber and eggplant animals.

Summer is short, so I guess it's okay to drown ourselves in a little booze and emotion, right? !
