• Meiya

  I was born in the port city of Yokohama. I loved singing ever since I was a child. I then learned to play the piano and studied music. I was inspired by and learned from many artists, and dreamed of becoming a vocalist. While working as an office worker, I attended a voice training school, learned vocalization, singing, staging, and songwriting, and sang at live houses in Tokyo. I also write and compose songs with the theme of "love" and have released four CDs in the past. In October 2023, I had the opportunity to perform at a basketball event (1,400 people) hosted by SUPERNOVA in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. At a basketball event with NBA players as guests, I was able to sing on the big stage as a representative of Japanese singers, and Meiya's name was published on Yahoo! Hong Kong. Currently, I work as a vocal trainer and session host vocalist, and sing a wide range of songs regardless of genre, from Western music to Japanese music. She also writes songs about her own experiences of encounters, partings, and love, and with her strong, soulful singing voice, which is unusual for a Japanese person, she has captivated audiences at live houses, bars, restaurants, jazz festivals, and more, mainly in Tokyo. And now, the project "This is Meiya 2," which started during the COVID-19 pandemic, has finally come to an end, and her first new album in about eight years, "This is Meiya 2 -Circle Of Heart-," will be released on February 7, 2025!!
