Artist Profile

  • French Antonio

French Antonio is a Los Angeles-born singer-songwriter blending the traditions of Black American music with the language and culture of Japan. Rooted in Neo Soul, his sound draws influence from R&B, Hip-Hop, J-Rap, Afrobeats, and City Pop, creating a style that is both soulful and uniquely his own. A classically trained violinist since childhood, Antonio approaches songwriting and arrangement with the discipline and musical sensitivity shaped by years of classical training. His music is defined by the interplay between English and Kansai dialect Japanese, using wordplay and storytelling to create a bridge between two worlds. As a Black American artist living and creating in Japan, French Antonio seeks to honor both cultures through music. His work explores connection, identity, and mutual respect, bringing together the emotional depth of Black musical traditions and the expressive possibilities of the Japanese language.
