I’m looking forward to tomorrow
There’s nothing I should sorrow
Already I have found my way
I have got all I need to go on
Just to follow my own decision
I’m always at my sole command to play
I had so many lonely nights
Couldn’t find any guiding light
Now I know who can help me is only myself
I’m just standing alone
My life is mine
I don't care just what you say
My life is mine
No one else can live instead
My life is mine
I was looking through my window
Just watching lights and shadows
The wind was blowing hard on the ground
I was not so deeply depressed
Rather enjoying the isolation
Needing some time to find out who I am
I was wandering in the woods
Trying to find any other ways
Now I swear I ain't wasting no more time
I just go straight ahead
My life is mine
I don't care just what you say
My life is mine
No one else can live instead
My life is mine
I’m looking forward to tomorrow
There’s nothing I should sorrow
Already I have found my way
I had so many lonely nights
Couldn’t find any guiding light
Now I know who can help me is only myself
I’m just standing alone
My life is mine
I don't care just what you say
My life is mine
No one else can live instead
My life is mine
Everybody has to find
Their own rules for making decisions
There’s no other way to break your shell
Take your time as much as you need
Everybody has to find
Their own rules for making decisions
There’s no other way to break your shell
Take your time as much as you need
Everybody has to find

Hello music lovers! I'm Shu Hakamada, a Japanese singer-songwriter born on 1959. I suffered hearing loss in 2006 and was forced to give up my career as a professional musician in my mid-40s. Since then, I was away from music for over 15 years, but in 2024 I returned with a new passion.
'Restart' represents my musical rebirth, featuring a journey through diverse melodies and harmonies - from upbeat anthems to soul-searching ballads. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, classic rock and roll, and Motown, these songs explore themes of love, grief, and hope.
This album was created entirely at home, with all tracks played, recorded, and mixed by myself.
Creating 'Restart' was like rediscovering a part of myself I thought I'd lost. It's living proof that age is no barrier to pursuing new dreams. We were all born to run - to chase our passions, overcome challenges, and reinvent ourselves at any stage of life.
