This is the first solo work by Shinpei Ruike, a jazz trumpeter who is active across genres, in his career. From acoustic sounds that make the most of the instrument's beautiful tone to modern sounds with digital beats via a sampler, a variety of sounds are played in succession with gradations. The recording location was Taro Okamoto's atelier, which is preserved at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum, Tokyo, and it was recorded in one take, just like a live recording. This is a work that allows you to feel the rich expressiveness and further possibilities of the trumpet.
Born in Aomori in 1976, Shinpei Ruike first encountered the trumpet in a brass band at the age of 10, and was awakened to jazz by Miles Davis when he was in high school. After graduating from high school, he joined the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Band to hone his trumpet skills. In 2004, he made his major debut with the jam band 'urb', and launched two bands under his leadership, 'Ruike Shinpei 4 piece band' and 'RS5pb (Ruike Shinpei 5 piece band)', one after the other, releasing a wide variety of works. At the same time, he is simultaneously developing activities with various formations and concepts, such as the duo unit 'N40' with Joji Nakajima, who is also a bandmate in RS5pb, and completely improvised solo performances. In addition, he is active in a wide variety of fields, participating in many units including 'Naruyoshi Kikuchi Dub Sextet', 'DCPRG', and 'WUJA BIN BIN', and participating in recordings by Gen Hoshino and Sakura Fujiwara. In 2025, he released a solo performance work, "Metamorphose ", from Days of Delight.
