Saisyu Syobunjo
SENTO SASAKI
Leaving behind the framework of a band, Sento Sasaki continues to explore the world that exists after the end.
Sasaki's new single, "Saisyu Syobunjou," (means; The Final Disposal Site)is inspired by the atmosphere of a certain video game, yet rather than retelling its story, it transforms that inspiration into a universal meditation on a world that continues to exist long after civilization has fulfilled its purpose.
An abandoned shopping mall. Grass reclaiming the floors. A world where language and currency have evolved beyond recognition. In a place where humanity has become a memory, a new ecosystem quietly flourishes. Against this backdrop, the song gently portrays the grief of what has been lost alongside the quiet determination to keep moving forward.
Symbolic images such as "Rubik" and "Tulips Blooming in Parallel" weave together fragments of a fractured world, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, life and memory.
The end of the world is never truly the end.
Within that silence lies a question: What do we choose to stand upon, what do we leave behind, and what will endure into the future?
A new post-apocalyptic landscape, painted by Sento Sasaki.
Artist Profile
SENTO SASAKI
After serving as songwriter, composer, and frontman in a variety of bands, including monotone and several experimental music projects, Sento Sasaki has finally stepped beyond the framework of a band to begin his solo career. The worlds and works he creates are always set in what might be called 'the world after the end.' After someone has died. After a band has broken up. After a romance has ended. After humanity has disappeared. Through his music, Sasaki explores the idea that a world left behind after losing its protagonist is not defined solely by despair. Grass grows through abandoned ruins, bones return to the sea, compounds break down into monomers, and the world quietly continues on. His lyrics are driven less by anger than by observation. Rather than shouting, 'This world is terrible,' he stands at a distance, simply looking at the world that has become what it is. As a result, listeners are never lectured to; instead, they find themselves gazing at the same landscape beside him. What remains after the music ends is not overwhelming emotion, but a lingering, quiet resonance.
