Celebrating a 15-year anniversary since the debut in Japan, the UK-based singer/songwriter/painter Rie fu announces her crowning work, the album "PLACES". Inspired by a life in the suburban town in Surrey outside London, each song delivers the beauty of the seasons, nature, and the daily rituals of the UK life from a foreigner's perspective of subtle isolation, along with a soothing acoustic sound. The album was recorded at Urchin Studios (http://www.urchinstudios.co.uk/) with producer Dan Cox known for his authentic recordings with Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas and Thurston Moore, etc.
Rie fu is a bilingual Japanese singer songwriter known for intimate pop folk that blends Japanese and English with emotional clarity. Her clear, understated vocal and warm melodies sit comfortably alongside modern indie folk and acoustic pop. She gained wide recognition through songs featured in popular Japanese anime, introducing her music to a global audience early in her career. Since then, she has continued to build an international following, touring extensively across Asia while releasing music that reflects a cross cultural life between Japan, US, UK, and Singapore.
