noy is Daisuke Ito (vocals) Shohei Hayasaka (guitar) Junya Ohata (guitar) Shingo Naka (bass) Seiji Ishikawa (drums) noy is a 5-piece Japanese emotional hardcore punk band from Tokyo Hatsudai WALL. Formed in 2008, the band has so far released a mini album, two demos and compilation. In 2013, with only demos recorded, noy was invited to play Japan's largest hardcore festival, Pump Up the Volume, sharing the stage with notable bands like Terror, Loma Prieta, Xibalba and Touche Amore. The band soon teamed up with Cosmic Note Records for their first official release, a mini album called 'Derive' (November 2013). The success of 'Derive' opened many doors for noy, and their unbridled live intensity continued to impress a diverse array of audiences at emo, melodic, Japanese hardcore, and instrumental live shows. noy quickly built an enthusiastic and loyal fan base that truly transcended genres. In June 2014, noy embarked on a Japan Tour with Tokyo hardcore heroes Endzweck and Florida (US) melodic hardcore legends As Friends Rust, and went on to support Strife (US), Unbroken (US) and calculator (US) on their tours of Japan. In 2013 noy launched Future View, an annual festival that takes place in May, and is focused on highlighting passionate younger bands and giving them exposure in a largely older scene. Additionally, noy (along with For Life) has taken over Sound of Silence, a large hardcore festival held at the end of every year. This festival was launched by Endzweck, who had organized it for 15 years before handing the keys over. Most recently, noy recorded 'What the Unknown Implies' - the culmination of all of their experiences over the past few years. Dropped during a tour with On Bodies (US), the release is noy at its best: A magnificent storm of raw, impassioned urgency, captured on both CD and Sono (flexi-disc).
