"andante" is the second single from 963's upcoming album "20xx," out November 11. The new track from the Tokyo idol duo was composed by Shigge, with lyrics by Shigge and member Maeda.

The song is about the space between wanting to move forward and being afraid to take the first step. Some days you feel unstoppable, like you've grown wings and could break out of the three-dimensional world into a fourth. Other days reality knocks you down and you want to retreat into a flat, two-dimensional one. The lyrics move back and forth between those two states.

The title comes from the musical term for a walking pace. Maeda explains that feelings don't change all at once. They shift little by little, and you keep moving while they do. The song follows someone carrying both strength and fragility, still heading somewhere.

When 963 performed it live for the first time, the response was huge. Tsuji admits she was nervous at first because of how much of the song she sings, but reading the lyrics changed that: "I could feel the will to keep pushing forward, and it made me want to push myself too."
