In the late 1980s, CHIC et CHOC suddenly emerged on the digital pop music scene. Their high-quality techno music, previously unavailable to listen to, is finally being released digitally. Starting with the first release, TURN AROUND, we will continuously release previously unreleased tracks! The era has finally caught up with music driven by analog synths!

Artist Profile

  • CHIC et CHOC

CHIC et CHOC: A techno-pop music unit consisting of three members: Masato Mizushima (vocals & programming), Hideki Mizushima (keyboards & synthesizer), and Hideki Ikemoto (bass). Initially formed as a four-piece called mode et mode with Haruhisa Kagawa (synthesizer). Kagawa left early on but contributed significantly to their early songwriting with his diverse sound design. Their active period was brief, spanning the mid-1980s to the early 1990s, yet they left behind numerous high-quality songs. Unfortunately, they never released through a major record label, meaning only a few trendsetters encountered their music. However, in 2025, their music will finally be released worldwide. We are grateful for the modern era's established digital distribution scene. We hope you enjoy their music, which encompasses not only technopop but also ambient, ethnic, Asian, and J-POP flavors.
