Spinning Plates (1)

I watched a plate spinner spinning plates on a stick. They spun them with perfect balance, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. However, if the rotation speed wasn't just right, the plates would fall to the ground and break. It's the same in the world we live in. If we take our eyes off it for even a moment and let our guard down, it can become warped or develop a small crack, and then break. Even our peaceful, ordinary lives will crumble if we don't pay attention to what's happening and, from time to time, raise our voices.
