On September 26, Okinawan singer-songwriter Youka will release "Monster feat. Herman", a collaboration with Hong Kong rapper Herman, whom she met at Itoman road side station, the southernmost roadside station in Okinawa, where she is based.
The song is an answer to Youka's original love song "Monster" released in March, with Hong Kong rapper Herman rapping from a male perspective.
The song depicts a sad love story between a man and a woman who want to cherish each other more than being bound by the word "going out.
It is also a new cross-border love song with Japanese vocals and Chinese rap.
The beautiful seas of Okinawa and Hong Kong's Changzhou Island are the backdrops for each song, and the jackets make it seem as if they exist in close proximity, gazing at each other across the border.
