Lyric

Borrow My Time

Miwa Grace

You’re always running

Chasing the day

A thousand little reasons

Pull you away

When you get tired

Come close to me

I’ve got a few hours

You can call your own

I save a little space for you

Beneath the evening sky

Borrow my time

Stay here tonight

Sleep in the hours

I can spare tonight

I think of you—

Do you think of me?

Maybe I’ll ask the wind

What your heart won’t tell me

Borrow my time

Borrow my time

Your days are crowded

Your nights run late

I never ask you

To promise or wait

But when the moonlight

Falls through my room

Every spare minute

Belongs to you

I send a little wish your way

And let the night decide

Borrow my time

Stay here tonight

Sleep in the hours

I can spare tonight

I think of you—

Do you think of me?

Maybe I’ll ask the wind

What your heart won’t tell me

Borrow my time

Borrow my time

If the wind finds your window

If it whispers my name

Maybe somewhere inside you

You feel just the same

Borrow my time

Dream here tonight

Take all the hours

I set aside

I think of you—

Do you think of me?

Maybe the wind knows

What someday we’ll be

Borrow my time

Borrow my time

If you need somewhere to dream

Borrow mine

Official Statement

"Borrow My Time" is a love song born from a simple thought: if a day only has 24 hours, I would give four of mine to someone I love.

I could live with 20, if it meant you could have 28.

Those four hours are not time I have left over. They are part of my own life. But if your days are always moving too fast, I would give you some of mine, so you could slow down, close your eyes, and finally rest for a while.
