Just nine months after his previous album, *The One-Sock Hero*.
Brian Shinsekai's new album, *B1*, is a work that takes a step back from chasing dreams and ideals to reexamine his current self and reality.
As he's grown older little by little and continued to create music as part of his daily life, his dreams and ideals have gradually shifted toward reality. How should he live from here on out, while accepting his own limitations and the things he cannot change? Struggling with depression, he confronts this question. Compounded by a sense of social stagnation and major changes in his personal life, this album-created in the midst of that turmoil-is more introspective than ever before and carries a quiet tension.
Rather than offering answers, he gives up and simply records his current state.
"B1" is an album like that.
Alongside his solo work, Brian Shinsekai serves as the keyboardist for OKAMOTO'S, works as a music producer for PIGGS and Lafuzin, and composes and arranges songs for artists such as SUPER EIGHT. This album represents the convergence of his diverse musical activities at a single point in time and will be developed as a series moving forward.
Born December 17, 1991. Musician and Producer. He has been active under his own name since competing in the 2009 Senko Riot Finals. He creates his unique sound entirely through solo home recording, spanning a wide range of genres including new wave, synth pop, new age, ambient, industrial, and AOR. His lyrics consistently explore the theme of self acceptance. He has been involved in a wide range of projects, including writing songs for SUPER EIGHT, serving as music producer for PIGGS and Lafuzin, playing keyboards for OKAMOTO'S, and composing film scores. Through these activities, he has built trusting relationships with many music fans beyond his solo work. In the spring of 2025, he was diagnosed with hypertonic dysphonia, a form of dystonia, but he continues his musical activities while undergoing rehabilitation.
