Coast to Coast After Midnight is a concept album built around the idea of a fictional late-night radio broadcast in 1960s America. Between jingles, weather alerts, and request lines, the record flows through doo-wop, girl group ballads, Motown grooves, rockabilly love songs, and raw garage rock bursts. It recreates the feeling of driving the highway at night, tuning into voices and songs that connect the country from coast to coast.
KAZO is a 20-something singer-songwriter from Tokyo, Japan. Fascinated from an early age by American oldies, he found inspiration in doo-wop harmonies, girl group ballads, and the soulful grooves of Motown. His latest concept album, Coast to Coast After Midnight, channels the spirit of a 1960s late-night radio show, complete with jingles, weather bulletins, and a spectrum of vintage pop styles reimagined for today. As a young Japanese artist bringing the golden age of American music vividly back to life, Reiji Kiryu is quickly gaining recognition both in Japan and abroad.
