本作は、「良いやつぶらないで、お互いの“悪いところ”を愛していこうぜ」というメッセージを込めた、少し捻くれたラブソング。誰からも好かれる“良いやつ”であろうとする一方で、誰しもが抱えるネガティブな側面や、好きになれない自分自身。そんな二面性を否定するのではなく、ありのまま受け入れ、愛していこうという想いが描かれている。

歌詞に登場する「悪役でいい、gonna be your Harley Quinn」というフレーズが象徴するのは、ヴィランならではの危うさと魅力。ディズニーやMARVELの作品に登場する悪役のように、欠点や歪ささえもその人だけの個性やオーラに変えてしまうような、独自の美学が楽曲全体に息づいている。

また、ドノヴァン・フランケンレイターやジャック・ジョンソンから感じられる、哀愁の中にある優しさや温かさも、本作のサウンドを形作るインスピレーションのひとつ。ドラマティックに変化していく展開と、メロディやグルーヴを軸にしたサウンドが、楽曲にさまざまな解釈の余地を生み出している。
