It was snowing that day

It covering up the ugliness

It was snowing that day

The cold and heavy snow wouldn't melt

It was snowing that day

It covering up the ugliness

It was snowing that day

The cold and heavy snow wouldn't melt

Why are the masses turning to it?

It was snowing that day

It covering up the ugliness

It was snowing that day

The cold and heavy snow wouldn't melt

    SAMOEDO

"That day" is the new single from SAMOEDO, the band comprising Shinichi Sugawara (ex. Siamese Cats), nakayaan (mitsume), Kento Suzuki (never young beach), and Naruki Numazawa.

Written, composed, and sung by nakayaan, the song depicts a town gradually disappearing beneath a blanket of snow. Through the repetition of simple phrases, it quietly brings to the surface an underlying sense of unease and unspoken questions hidden beneath the tranquil scenery.

The track is characterized by its psychedelic sense of drift, created through gently swaying rhythms, layered sonic textures, and immersive choral arrangements. SAMOEDO's signature warmth and pop sensibility blend naturally with a spirit of experimentation, resulting in a unique soundscape that seems to float somewhere between dream and reality.

The track was mixed by bisshi and mastered by Soichiro Nakamura. The cover artwork features a photograph by Ryo Adachi, in which a vivid yellow structure interrupts a tranquil snowy landscape, visually expressing both the beauty and subtle unease that run throughout the song.

Following the release of the single "Endroit" in May, which captured the faint sense of connection shared among people living in Tokyo, "That day" further expands SAMOEDO's artistic vision. The track also serves as part of the band's ongoing journey toward their forthcoming album, hinting at new dimensions in their evolving sound and songwriting.
