『Portrait』以来、実に4年振りとなる今西佑介セクステットの6thアルバム。ハーモニーの美しい三管セクステット編成に、木原鮎子(vo)と野江直樹(g)がゲスト参加し、結成10周年記念にふさわしい豪華盤となった。初の日本語歌詞作品となる「Contrafact」や、尊敬する故スライド・ハンプトンに捧げた楽曲など全10曲を収録。
Yusuke Imanishi was born on September 27th, 1982 in Nishinomiya, Japan. At age 14, he began studying the trombone and played Big Band Jazz as a member of Konan Brass Ensemble. He began taking trombone lessons from Hiroshi Munekiyo while he was a junior high and high school student. In 2004, he went to U.S. to study Jazz with world renowned Jazz trombonist Steve Davis. He was admitted to and got full scholarship to the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, University of Hartford, Connecticut. In 2008, after the graduation from the university, he came back to Kobe and begun his professional career as a jazz trombonist, arranger and composer. In 2011, He released his first CD "Crisp"(JLR-1103) After that he released 5 CDs including "Wayfarer"(JLR-1203), "Weather"(JLR-1401), "Meteorology"(NBR-1601), "Portrait"(NBR-1801) and "Place To Be"(NBR-2301).
