Artist Profile

  • Karen Tanaka

Influenced from an early age by her father, who was a musician, she grew up listening to a wide range of music, including Ray Charles, Carole King, Mariya Takeuchi, and Yūkadan. At the age of 16, she began writing songs after the deaths of both her mentor and her father, and officially launched her music career in 2017. On September 23, 2017, she released her first self-produced recording, Zetsubou no Machi to Asa no Hikari (The City of Despair and the Morning Light). On September 6, 2020, she released Dramatic na Jinsei wo (A Dramatic Life), her first mini album and her first release in nearly three years. She creates music guided by the belief that songs are prayers to others, to oneself, to the past, and to the future. Currently, while focusing mainly on live streaming and performances in the Kansai area, she is also actively expanding her live activities through self-produced events.
