I sing here, now-
and I wonder
whose hands, whose lives
have made this possible.

A body that can sing.
Fingers that still move.

Through the time I've walked,
through the teachers I've met,
through all that has passed,
something living remains inside me.

What I can do-always, now-
is press my footsteps
a little deeper into the earth.

That is my feeling.
