What Remains

KIRI

What remains

...after everything

I've burned through villages and never looked back

Left names in mission reports and nothing on the map

No grave no monument no story that gets told

Just a blade that kept on moving

Through the rain and cold

Every place I've been

Like I was never there at all

If I disappeared tomorrow

Would anything remain

Or just another shadow

Lost inside the rain

I've watched empires fall to dust

And kings become the earth

I've watched the things that felt eternal

Prove what they were worth

Nothing built from power lasts

Nothing carved in stone

でも——

There are things I cannot take

No matter how long I've known

The moment someone stopped mid-battle

Picked a stranger up

The wordless thing between two people

When one's had enough

Those moments stay

Even I

Can't touch them

What remains —

What remains when the blade goes still

Not the mission not the glory

Not the blood upon the hill

What remains —

What remains when the name is gone

Something small and almost nothing

Somehow carries on

There is something

That remains

There was a child who fell once on the road I passed

I stopped for half a second — lifted her — then left fast

It's not in any report

No one saw me do it

Mission protocol says keep moving

So I kept right through it

I remember every detail

Her weight her face the mud

Two seconds of my life

That felt like something good

Maybe that's what stays

When everything else burns

Maybe that's the only thing

A kunoichi earns

She came just last spring

And the last thing in her memory

Wasn't suffering

It was a pair of hands

That stopped when no one had to

A shadow that chose human

For just long enough to matter

Not the blade not the name

The two seconds you almost didn't give

That was everything

What remains —

What remains when the blade goes still

Not the mission not the glory

Not the blood upon the hill

What remains —

What remains when the name is gone

Something small and almost nothing

Somehow carries on

There is something

That remains

It's the only thing

That ever was enough

What remains —

What remains — it was always there

Not the mission not the glory

Something you almost threw away

What remains —

What remains — two seconds of grace

Something small and almost nothing

There is something

That remains

They all add up

Eventually

The Dialogue is the fourth album from KIRI,
a kunoichi warrior and Japanese trap artist
under Shinobi Sound.

Ten tracks. Ten conversations between the living and the dead.

KIRI encounters a skeleton warrior -
a figure who has witnessed every life,
every battle, every last breath.
What follows is not a fight.
It is a dialogue.
About why we fight. About what we fear.
About what remains when everything else is gone.

Blending Japanese trap, heavy 808 bass,
traditional instruments - shamisen, koto, shakuhachi, taiko -
with bilingual lyrics that move between English and Japanese,
The Dialogue is a meditation on life, death,
and the razor's edge between them.

From first meeting to farewell,
nothing is resolved easily.
But something is understood.
