My new song "Hikari wo Tomeru Mono (What Holds the Light)" is not a song about someone who was always surrounded by warmth.
It is a song for those who have carried loneliness or a sense of something missing, and still chose to live gently and kindly.
There are days in life when our hearts feel like they might quietly come undone, in places no one else can see.
And yet, even on those days, I believe there are small moments that save us - like freshly washed clothes moving in the wind, or soft light falling onto a balcony.
With this song, I wanted to cherish those ordinary little things that become proof that we have kept going, and the quiet strength it takes to hold ourselves together through each day.
Rather than shouting pain out loud, I hoped to gently express the tenderness and warmth that can grow inside it.
If this song can become something that softly holds a little light in someone's heart, that would mean more to me than anything.
